Our dream became reality
It started with a slightly uncomfortable feeling. Yes, we’re doing meaningful and impactful work. But it’s only available to those who can afford it, or have it funded. What about the people who don’t have that access? That’s when a dream was born. And we called it Gump for Each Other: a personal leadership programme, completely free of charge. For people in vulnerable positions in society.
But it didn’t stay a dream. By now, more than 55 participants across 8 groups have taken part in Gump for Each Other.

Gump for Each Other, what is that exactly?
A personal leadership program consisting of:
A kick-off, where participants get to know each other and get more information about the Purpose Walk and how to prepare for it.
A 2.5 day Purpose Walk as we walk several stages of the Pieterpad and work to shape your Personal Manifesto: a compass for your life.
A closing meeting where we look back, harvest and also look ahead.
How do we do this?
Together with various foundations, we look at who this opportunity comes at an appropriate time. They select the participants. In most cases, someone from the foundation also joins as a participant or supervisor. They know the target group well and can act as a source of information during and after the program. This is how we ensure sustainable assurance, even after the program.
Foundations & Partners
Mano Foundation
Encourages Rotterdammers to discover and use their qualities. They do this for people with a migration background, status holders, refugees and children and young people from vulnerable environments.
On the move sports friends
Uses sports to help young people get and stay active, literally and figuratively. They take young people out of the treatment room and help them with their challenges in a different location and way.
VOX
Organizes activities for people living after cancer, including its consequences. They discuss themes such as; how do you regain control over your life and what are you more than your illness and the late effects?
Impact in partnership with your organization
Our ambition is to allow 50 people to participate in Gump for Each Other every year. We finance at least half of this ourselves. We would like to do the other part in partnership. Because we believe that it not only brings something to participants or us, but also to our partner organizations.
This is what it offers our partner organizations:
The cross mentoring program. An exchange of participants from your organization with the participants of the Gump for Each Other group. To learn from and with each other, with the same experience as a starting point. Co-facilitation. Someone from your organization with the right competencies can help supervise this program. Proposals from a foundation or participants. Do you have an idea for this? We are happy to see if this is appropriate for this program. Gump for Each Other is concrete, achievable and impactful. As an organization, you require a limited investment of time. Gump takes the lead in organization and guidance.
