Talent and Potential. What do we mean by that?
In our conversations with organizations and participants, we often talk about words like “talent”, “potential”, “having talent” or “being potential”. In an earlier post, we mentioned that at Gump, we believe that talent is your potential. But what does this mean exactly? What is our view on this?

In our conversations with organizations and participants, we often talk about words like “talent”, “potential”, “having talent” or “being potential”. In an earlier post, we mentioned that at Gump, we believe that talent is your potential. But what does this mean exactly? What is our view on this?
What is talent?
Talent sometimes seems like a magic word. And at the same time, everyone has it! We were all born with things that we're naturally good at. It's often those things that come effortlessly to us. At Gump, we see talent as what you are really good at and what gives you energy.
What is potential?
But what is the potential? Potential literally means “available power” and refers to a force that has not yet fully blossomed. It is the opportunity to achieve something in the future. Potential is not always immediately visible, not even to yourself. It's a combination of capacity, drive and a willingness to keep growing. Potential is what you can achieve if you keep challenging yourself, dare to take risks, and aren't afraid to fall and get back up again.
The Power of Potential
The beauty of potential is that it can often be further developed through hard work, learning and perseverance. It offers room for growth, even if you don't have 'everything' at home yet.
